Customer: Principia College

Special Concerns:  Principia College is a unique customer who pays particular attention to architecture and the blending of style into the beautiful setting of the College atop the Bluffs of the Mississippi River looking over the Mississippi Delta.  Electrical installations inside and outside new and existing structures must be installed to provide the most pleasing architectural look.

Scope:  Wegman Electric scope included updating the existing electrical power, lighting and systems in the existing structure and blending into an expansion of the existing building.  The challenge of hiding raceways systems in a beautiful open structure, some of which was existing, made the project a very unique and complicated layout.

  • Furnished labor and material to relocate existing high voltage transformer and the required underground primary and secondary wiring.
  • Furnished labor and material to install new 800 amp 120/208V Main Distribution Panel.
  • Furnished labor and material for all new state of art lighting system and control.
  • Furnished labor and material for new door security system.
  • Furnished labor and material for new fire alarm system.
  • Furnished labor and material for general convenience outlets and miscellaneous power wiring.
  • Furnished labor and material for special lighting layouts in various art rooms and entrances.
  • Furnished labor and material for telecommunication raceway system.
  • Furnished labor and material for wiring of building automation system.
  • Furnished labor and material to power complete HVAC system including air handlers, make up air units, fan coil units and VAV’s.
  • Furnish labor and material for site lighting including fixtures.

Crafts Utilized:  Local 649 IBEW Inside Wiremen

Safety:  There were no recordables on the project.  Weekly Safety Meetings were conducted by the Wegman Foreman.  Random audits were performed to assure safety procedures were being followed.
